Oracle Database Admin

Position Overview: This position is responsible for the support of a
large scale Oracle Applications environment -- both production and
development. Day to day operations, deployment of custom code,
backups, data recovery, tuning, activity auditing and/or resource/
capacity monitoring and documentation. Review custom code and provide
advice to developers on making code more efficient. Mentoring of lower
level DBA's

Position Functions : # Perform complex database administration and
maintenance support under limited supervision. Nature of work to be
performed will include functions such as troubleshooting, complex
configurations, device allocations, data recovery, tuning, activity
auditing and/or resource/capacity monitoring and documentation. #
Participate in the development of standardized processes and
procedures for database applications. Examples of work to be performed
include environment cloning, script creation, testing, documentation
and security. # Perform complex database system support activities
such as code review, code installation/removal, and data transfers. #
Create and/or update technical support documentation and create and/or
modify workflow applications as delivered with various database
products. # Participate in development of long and short-range
capacity planning

Required Qualifications : # Bachelors Degree in CS or equivalent work
experience # Minimum of 6 years working as an Oracle DBA. # Minimum 6
years of working experience on Unix OS system (Solaris preferred) # 3
years experience working in an Enterprise installation of Oracle
Applications with emphasis on the # Financial modules AP FA, PA, AR,
PO & HR. # Demonstrated experience in writing Unix scripts and set up
jobs for backup/recovery and system monitoring. # Strong understanding
of Oracle database internal, performance tuning, backup/recovery and
administration

Preferred Qualifications: # MSCS # High Tech; Wireless
Telecommunications # 6+ years working as a DBA performing
responsibilities # 6+ years experience working in an Enterprise
installation of Oracle Applications with emphasis on # the Financial
modules AP FA, PA, AR, PO & HR. # OCP Certification # 10G
